Connecting the Dots: A Systems Approach to Transforming Childcare

ECDAN

Systems thinking has the power to transform early childhood development. But what is meant by systems thinking, and how can it be applied to service delivery and policy design? Join ECDAN for this important webinar to discuss a systems approach to childcare. They’ll launch a powerful new tool called the Childcare Systems Map, which can be used by stakeholders to guide how childcare services are designed and delivered in your country, as well as inform your advocacy plans.

The Childcare Systems Map was co-created by members of ECDAN's Systems Thinking for ECD Collaborative—comprising seven leading childcare organizations: BRAC IED (Bangladesh), Foundation for Communities of Learning (India), Mobile Creches (India), NurtureFirst (Kenya), OneSky (Vietnam), SmartStart (South Africa), and Spark Health Africa (South Africa). The collaborative members will share their insights on systems thinking, explain how they are using the map in their countries, and offer lessons they've learned on the journey. We’ll also hear from partners selected to implement ECDAN’s new Childcare Advocacy, Research, and Engagement (CARE) Initiative, who will launch advocacy campaigns in Bangladesh, South Africa, and Tanzania to strengthen childcare systems.

The conversation will inspire and equip participants with tools, examples, and strategies to drive systemic change, foster stakeholder collaboration, and build capacity to address gaps in the childcare system in their country context.
