Developing Minimum Social Service Workforce Ratios and Costing the Social Service Workforce

Global Social Service Workforce Alliance

Time: 8-9am ET

In most countries, the number of social service workers is seriously inadequate to respond effectively to critical needs. There is, therefore, an urgent need to make the case for more robust and sustained investment in workforce planning and development. Making this case is often hampered by the absence of a minimum ratio of social service workers per population and the inability to determine the level of investment required to meet and sustain the ratio.

The Global Social Service Workforce Alliance has recently collaborated with UNICEF to develop guidance for developing a minimum social service workforce ratio and on how to calculate the costs of achieving and adequately resourcing that minimum ratio. This webinar will explore the importance of making the investment case for the social service workforce and how the new guidance on ratios and costing can be used to build that case.
