The Global Kinship Care Week 2025 (GKCW 2025) will take place from 6–12 October.
Organised annually by Family for Every Child, the week is held in collaboration with more than 20 civil society organisations worldwide to raise awareness about the importance of kinship care. Together, these organisations are advocating for greater recognition, support, and prioritisation of kinship care by governments and policymakers. This year, the week will be focused on positioning kinship care as a mechanism to strengthen families and call on governments to recognise and invest in kinship care.
The initiative aims to shine a spotlight on kinship care, ensuring it is better understood and valued across global child welfare systems.
