The Children and Young People’s Centre for Justice (CYCJ) and the Scottish Child Law Centre invite you to the launch of a new guide to ensure the rights of care experienced children and young people in police custody are upheld and respected.
‘Representing care experienced children & young people in police custody: A good practice guide’ brings together practical advice, research and guidance, aimed at criminal solicitors, practitioners, and children and young people themselves. It is based on a paper from the Howard League for Penal Reform and the Youth Justice Legal Centre, part of Just Kids for Law, with input from Youth Just Us and Scottish solicitors.
The launch event will share the voices and experiences of those who contributed to the guide, with opportunities for discussion.

Although primarily for criminal solicitors who represent looked after children in police custody, this event is open to anyone with an interest in this area.
