Launch of Protecting Children against Torture in Detention: Global Solutions for a Global Problem

The Center for Human Rights & Humanitarian Law's Anti-Torture Initiative

On 19 may 2017, The Center for Human Rights & Humanitarian Law's Anti-Torture Initiative will host the launch of Protecting Children against Torture in Detention: Global Solutions for a Global Problem.  The event will be held in Conference Room VII in United Nations Headquarters, New York, USA.

The event will features speakers from the UN, civil society, and academia, and provides insights into the timely topics addressed by the report, at the intersection between children’s rights and the international human rights law prohibition of torture. Authors and experts will discuss the ongoing challenges of protecting the fundamental human rights of children in contexts ranging from criminal justice systems and armed conflict situations to institutionalization and migration detention.
