At a time when the Global Charter on Children’s Care Reform is calling for stronger commitment and action to ensure children grow up in safe and loving family, FAFICA is pleased to be collaborating with the Global Campaign on Children's Care Reform and would like to invite you to their upcoming webinar: Over 30 Million Reasons to Act: Advancing Family Care for Children in Africa.
Convened by Family First Alliance for Children Without Parental Care in Africa (FAFICA) and Transform Alliance Africa in partnership with and with support from the Eastern Africa Child Rights Network, this session will bring together policymakers, civil society, practitioners, people with lived experience, faith-based actors and other partners from across the continent to explore how Africa can strengthen family care for children without parental care.
They are also partnering with the African Committee of Experts on the Rights and Welfare of the Child (ACERWC) to help amplify General Comment No. 10 on Children Without Parental Care and support stronger awareness, understanding, and action across the continent.
This conversation comes at an important time. With more than 30 million children across Africa estimated to be living without parental care, the webinar will focus on moving from commitment to action by deepening understanding of the Global Charter on Children’s Care Reform, General Comment No. 10, and the practical steps needed to strengthen family-based care systems. The session will also create space for shared learning, lived experience, and collaboration across countries and sectors.
