Summary

ChildFund International has structured its programming along the life stages of child/youth development and protection. Life Stage 1 includes infants and young children, from conception to age 5; Life Stage 2 includes children and young adolescents, ages 6 to 14; and Life Stage 3 focuses its programming on adolescents and youth, ages 15 to 24. The Senior Advisor position provides technical leadership to strengthen ChildFund International’s global program portfolio and enhance program quality on behalf of children across the development and humanitarian continuum across these three life stages to promote international standards of Child Protection in Emergencies (CPiE). This includes technical leadership functions – designing and promoting models, curating innovations, and facilitating knowledge networks. The Sr. Advisor also plays a lead role in developing and executing research agenda for child protection in emergencies in his or her technical team and supports the team to execute the research agendas on community based child protection and in integrating children across the life stages. The Sr. Advisor also leads program design efforts aimed at increasing the ChildFund’s grant portfolio. He or she represents the organization externally and develops external contacts to develop ChildFund’s resource base. The Sr. Advisor works collaboratively with colleagues at headquarters, regionally and in programmatic countries in support of program design, implementation, evaluation and learning in line with ChildFund’s theories of change.
