Professional Skills Development for Programme Managers from Foundations and Government Development Agencies

The objective of this course is to strengthen knowledge of interpreting and using child protection statistics in a rigorous and evidence-informed manner, thereby enhancing participants’ ability to assess programme proposals, design interventions and monitor results, ensuring that decision-making is grounded in data and oriented towards measurable improvements in child protection outcomes.
This course has been specifically designed for programme managers from foundations and government agencies responsible for development assistance. It is also intended to provide opportunities for networking and collaboration within the child protection community.
This course will be focusing on statistics related to violence against children, including female genital mutilation, and child marriage. While examples are drawn from child protection, most of the content on statistics is applicable across sectors, including education, health, nutrition, etc. A few sessions will focus on specific topics, providing a deep dive on statistics on violence against children and harmful practices.
Please note that this course does not focus on programme or project monitoring, including the use of monitoring indicators to track programme implementation or performance. Instead, it focuses on the interpretation and use of population-level statistics to understand outcomes and inform evidence-based decision-making.
