BACKGROUND INFORMATION

ECPAT UK is a leading children’s rights charity working to prevent child trafficking and transnational child abuse. Since 2004, it has campaigned to uphold the rights of trafficked children and children that are abused by British nationals travelling, living or working abroad, lobbying government, conducting research, training frontline professionals and supporting child victims of trafficking in the UK through ongoing peer support initiatives.

ECPAT UK has advocated for the best protections for children who have been trafficked into, within and out of the UK for the purposes of exploitation including forced labour, domestic servitude, forced criminality, sexual exploitation and other forms of abuse. In 2015, ECPAT UK successfully lobbied the Government to introduce a number of key child protection provisions in the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and Sexual Offences Act 2003. ABOUT THE ROLE

ECPAT UK is recruiting a Policy and Campaigns Officer to help influence systemic change for children who have been trafficked. The successful applicant will provide essential support to the Head of Advocacy, Policy & Campaigns to ensure the policy and campaigning work generates, leads and informs public and political discourse on child trafficking in the UK. Central to this role is having the confidence, skills and capabilities to produce and present convincing arguments at the highest levels in the public, private and the NGO sectors to uphold the rights of children.
