Save the Children is Seeking a Deputy Head of Child Protection for its Farringdon, London U.K. office.  As Deputy Head of Child Protection you will oversee the entire child protection portfolio of programmes for Save the Children UK whilst driving forward the quality of their work and contributing to their strategic direction. In this pivotal role you will work with the Head of Child Protection to lead and develop the team to deliver on Save the Children’s 2016-2018 Child Protection Strategy. You will achieve this by providing high quality team management and by being a respected technical authority within and outside Save the Children. You will oversee the setup and delivery of high quality child protection programmes, including capacity building, programme policy development, research, innovation and advocacy at a global level.

To be successful you will have proven people management skills with an excellent track record of leading a team to deliver results. You will have significant knowledge and experience of child protection programming in an international organisation, as well as a thorough understanding of the wider child protection sector, including personal or professional networks and the current institutional, legal and policy environment in which child protection programmes operate.

The role will require the successful candidate to travel, occasionally to remote and/or insecure locations. An internationally recognised Masters-level qualification in Child Protection and/or Social Work and a second language (preferably Spanish, French, Portuguese or Arabic) would be an advantage.
