USAID Call for Concepts: Sustainable and Supportive Family Care and Protection Systems for Children

USAID

The U.S. Agency for International Development’s (USAID) Bureau for Development, Democracy and Innovation’s Inclusive Development Hub’s has published a Call for ConceptsSustainable and Supportive Family Care and Protection Systems for Children. The closing date for receipt of applications under this announcement is April 21, 2023 at 12:00 PM EDT.

USAID is seeking concepts that can contribute to developing stronger national and related subnational and community systems to achieve the following outcomes:

  • increasing the capacities of families to raise their children in a nurturing, violence-free environment in which children’s fundamental needs are met,
  • increasing the capacities of families to enable children to reintegrate into their own families or live in family-based alternative care or domestic adoption, and
  • reducing the number of children in residential care facilities and increasing the availability of family-based alternative care.

USAID intends to make up to three awards with funding not likely to exceed $18 million per award over a 5 year period.

This is an addendum to an existing announcement: Advancing Protection and Care for Children in Adversity (APCCA) Alliance Annual Program Statement (APS). Through the APCCA Alliance APS, USAID aims to address key objectives outlined in the U.S. Government (USG) APCCA Strategy. The APCCA Strategy outlines the USG’s whole-of-government commitment and approach to investing in the development, care, dignity, and safety of the world’s most-vulnerable children and their families.

All interested organizations should carefully review both this addendum and the full announcement, which can be found here:
