A two-day national meet on adoption in New Delhi, organised by Child Adoption Resource Authority (CARA) of the Union Ministry of Women and Child Development, has concluded. The ultimate message of the meeting was that all stakeholders should do their utmost to ensure the best interests of children are given priority and first consideration in all matters related to adoption in India, according to the article. One conclusion from the meeting is that adoptions should not take longer than 4 months to process. New adoption guidelines will also include issuing identification cards to all children in adoption homes in India.
