This article reports on the introduction of the Global Child Thrive Reauthorization Act of 2025, a bipartisan bill in the U.S. Congress designed to expand and deepen early childhood development efforts in some of the world’s poorest countries. By embedding early childhood interventions — such as health, nutrition, nurturing care, protection from abuse and neglect, and early education — into U.S. foreign aid programs and appointing a Special Advisor at the State Department to oversee this work, the bill aims to ensure vulnerable children receive essential care and support so they can reach their full potential, reducing long-term risks linked to poverty, instability, and exploitation.
