New South Wales, Australia will be launching a new program "designed to give children in care a permanent home," according to this article from the Guardian. The program will go into effect in July 2018 and will be aimed at providing "more support and training" to carers. "Under the program, children will be matched with families who best support their needs – these could also include carers who can support restoring relations with the child’s birth family, prospective guardians or adoptive parents. A recruitment strategy for Aboriginal people will also be included, to ensure children stay connected to their families and community."
