Program gets more 'whip-smart' care leavers into higher ed

Miki Perkins - The Age

This article from the Age describes the work of the program Raising Expectations, which has supported care leavers in Victoria, Australia who enroll at La Trobe and Federation universities. "Two years ago there were only 43 care leavers enrolled at these universities, now there are more than 200," says the article. "The program has a co-ordinator who liaises with universities, supports students and visits schools to promote the initiative."
