Guidelines for the Operation of Care Facilities for Victims of Trafficking and Violence Against Women and Girls

WHAT:  Operational standards and guidance for residential care facilities for girls and women survivors of trafficking and abuse.  It covers administration and staff, confidentiality, care planning, responding to immediate and longer term support needs, psychosocial care, life skills and reintegration activities. 

WHO:  Policy makers, managers, social and community workers, and staff in institutions providing care and support for victims of trafficking, exploitation and abuse.  Useful also for those inspecting facilities.

WHERE: Global relevance. While these guidelines were created for care facilities in Nepal, they are based on international minimum standards of care, and can be adapted to other national contexts.

WHY:  Provides a comprehensive list of the procedures required in order to ensure that survivors of exploitation and abuse have their care and support needs met and to enable their successful integration into the community.
