ECPAT International (End Child Prostitution, Child Pornography and Trafficking of Children for Sexual Purposes

WHAT: A self-study manual on the care, protection and psychosocial rehabilitation of commercially sexually exploited children.  It includes lessons, reflections and questions for self-study and skill building, and a section with answers to the previous questions and learning exercises.

WHO:  Social and community workers, formal care staff and volunteers involved in the protection and rehabilitation of child survivors of commercial sexual exploitation, trafficking, and sexual abuse.

WHERE:  Global relevance.  Supplementation and adaptation to reflect individual country or organizational situations is encouraged.

WHY:  A personal workbook for staff to self-teach and assess their own understanding of child sexual abuse, commercial sexual exploitation, and the process of psychosocial rehabilitation.  It also guides staff in the reflection and development of centre programs that address children’s education, vocational training, creative therapy and reintegration needs, as well as prevention of future exploitation.  It is a useful and practical tool that allows staff to work through the material in their own time and at their own pace.

N.B. These self study materials accompany a practitioner manual, which is included in this toolkit.  It is entitled:
