Facebook Live Session: Home schooling, how to help our children in time of COVID-19

The World Blind Union (WBU) will host a Facebook live session on “Home schooling, how to help our children in time of Covid-19".

The session will be on Wednesday April 22nd at 12 Noon EST.

The Speaker will be Melissa Riccobono an expert in school counseling. Melissa has a BA in Psychology and a Masters in Counseling Psychology, with an emphasis on school counseling. She has worked as an elementary school counselor and is currently the First Lady of the National Federation of the Blind, USA and a board member for the National Organization of Parents of Blind Children, the National Federation of the Blind of Maryland, and the Maryland Parents of Blind Children. Melissa is passionate about advocating for the rights of blind children in schools, and also helping to educate families of blind children so they feel confident to teach their children the skills they need for future success. Melissa is also a passionate advocate for the rights of blind parents. She enjoys helping families think outside the box in order to find solutions to problems, find ways to make learning new skills fun, and figure out ways to use all the tools in your toolbox to your advantage. At the moment she is putting all of these skills to use everyday as she helps all three of her children navigate this new world of online learning. Melissa is totally blind since birth.
