Global Child Advocates is holding a training for social workers to support reintegration of children from institutions to family-based care.
Read their post below:
20 years ago, missions organizations working with orphaned and vulnerable children didn’t understand how critical professional skills are. Right now many orphanage leaders understand the important role of family in child protection. They want to provide families for the children in their care but they don’t have the social work capacity to do so safely.
That’s where you come in!
Learning Objectives:
-
Awareness about the realities of the ‘Orphan Crisis”, the Global DI Movement, and the risks associated
-
The role of the Christian church and the critical need for social work skills
-
How to contextualize your social work skills cross-culturally to increase the social work skills of those working with children
-
How to make a global impact by advocating locally on behalf of orphaned and vulnerable children
