Welt ohne Waisen

Welt ohne Waisen means world without orphans. The initiative wants to rethinks the support of orphanages in the global south from german speaking countries through cooperation, development education, advocacy and best practice examples, while facilitating collaborations with other likeminded initiatives. Its vision is to enable children to grow up in a safe and loving family environment. As a round table of the Evangelical Alliance in Germany it brings together faith based actors. As the name suggests, it is closely associated with the European and global World without Orphans movement (https://europe.withoutorphans.org/).

Welt ohne Waisen has become a round table of the Evangelical Alliance in Germany in 2025.  It builds on previous activities, including presentations at two Christian Community Development conferences in 2022 in Berlin and 2025 in Frankfurt in cooperation with Hope and Homes, Viva, Tearfund Ireland and World without Orphans. A first round table meeting has been held in 2024. An article in german, published in 2025, describes the challenges surrounding the rethinking of orphanages with a focus on a Germany and a faith based audience (https://bettercarenetwork.org/library/particular-threats-to-childrens-c…).
