Please join us for an interactive discussion following the January 16, 2023, workshop on Working with Children and Families in Conflict Zones. The workshop panelists presented on best practice and shared from their own experiences working in areas of national conflict. This follow-up conversation is a chance for those of us working in Haiti to talk about what was presented and how to apply it to our work, and to discuss questions specific to programming in Haiti. 

The Independent Review of Children’s Social Care, published in May 2022, places a strong emphasis on kinship care, calling for “far greater recognition and support” for kinship carers as well as several other recommendations to improve outcomes for children and families in kinship care. The recently introduced Kinship Care Bill also calls for improved support for kinship carers. Despite this growing awareness of the need to improve support for kinship carers, there is still much that is unknown about how kinship care is used and the support which kinship carers receive.

This online workshops designed specifically for designated Child Safeguarding Focal Points will help you gain the skills and knowledge to carry out your role. Live Child Safeguarding Focal Points training sessions take place on Zoom, four times per week on set dates. These sessions are for all participants to connect, discuss work and answer your questions.

This webinar will focus on the use of creative therapies in supporting the mental health of vulnerable children and youth.

Join the Haiti Family Care Network for a discussion on current events and challenges to child/youth/family programming in Haiti. The conversation will be loosely moderated with the goal of sharing challenges and lessons learned and supporting one another. This conversation will take place in English.

The  FAQs document, Every Child’s Right to Family Life: Introduction to Family Strengthening and Alternative Care in India, compiled by the India Alternative Care Network (IACN) in collaboration with Hope and Homes for Children (HHC) and UNICEF, India, was launched at the Workshop on De-institutionalisation and Family Based Alternative Care organised by the Department of Women and Child Development, Govt. of Kerala, in collaboration with UNICEF, India. IACN and HHC are organising a webinar to talk about the  FAQs  document, its key components, and use.
