Their vision sees the end of discrimination of children and adults living with disabilities in Uganda and hopes for celebration of differences. Ekisa gives respite to children who need love and care, and empowers parents and families to best care for their children.

Ekupholeni was founded in 1994 to address the needs of a community traumatized by political violence of the 1980s/90s, as well as poverty, unemployment, criminal and gender violence, substance abuse, family breakdown, school absenteeism and gang activity. They have evolved continuously to provide relevant support for the region’s changing needs. One of the biggest problems in Kathorus is the overwhelming prevalence of HIV/AIDS. And of increasing concern is the number of children/youth that have been orphaned by the pandemic and/or are also infected by it.

The "Embrace" Program is operated by the Community Development Authority (CDA) of the Government of Dubai. The CDA is the responsible authority for providing care for abandoned children in the Emirate of Dubai. In conjunction with shelters, housing institutions and alternative families, CDA provides all the support abandoned children deserve in accordance with Islamic law and values.

Embracing Hope is a "Christ-centered organization focused on seeing the poorest and most vulnerable of families preserved and orphans prevented by using compassionate, holistic practices that promote dignity, sustainability, transformation, and community."
