Des la mi-février 2014, la République de Guinée a fait face à une maladie mortelle à virus Ebola. Les premiers cas ont été reportés à Guéckédou. Pour mieux organiser les services de protection destinés aux enfants non-accompagnés/séparés, un centre de transit a ete aménagé  à Guéckédou. Cependant face au nombre de cas ENAS qui est resté assez limité, la stratégie pour les ENAS a évolué vers le réseau de famille d’accueil.
