Since care reform is a long and complex process, requiring collaboration between many diverse actors, with different change pathways in diverse contexts, the Changing the Way We Care initiative set out to learn from different demonstration countries, build national and regional knowledge, and reinforce global momentum for family care. This learning brief describes some of that journey.

This presentation unpacked how to better understand how trauma affects practitioners and the ones they support. Attendees learned about new ways to conceptualize resilience by considering it rather as a transformation.

During this webinar, participants will consider the following questions: When children’s lives and well-being are at serious risk, how can religious institutions and faith communities help to uphold commitments to children’s rights and protection and strengthen child-centered moral conscience? How do the impacts of war on children affect their mental health, moral compass, and capacity to empathize with others? Do these impacts on young minds risk aggravating and prolonging the Israeli/Palestinian conflict, jeopardizing possibilities of conflict transformation, peace, and security in the future?
