While the determinants of child marriage among females have been well-documented, there is a lack of research on the determinants of child marriage among males. This study aims to bridge the gap in the literature to investigate the determinants of child marriage among males and females in Vietnam.

Although orphanage trafficking can be prosecuted under legal frameworks in some jurisdictions, including Cambodia, there have been limited prosecutions to date. One factor that likely contributes to a lack of prosecution is poor detection, yet the indicators of orphanage trafficking have not been considered by extant research. The current study was conducted as a first step towards providing evidence-based indicators of orphanage trafficking.

Since adopting the 2016 Child and Family Welfare Policy, Timor-Leste has prioritized strengthening a skilled and accountable Social Welfare Workforce through multi-sectoral capacity development initiatives aimed at improving child protection services. An independent evaluation commissioned by the Ministry of Social Solidarity and Inclusion, with UNICEF support, assesses these efforts from 2016 to 2022 and provides recommendations to guide future workforce development.

This comes amid growing protests against the plan, which critics say would create a new class of stateless people.

Drawing on research and voices from the Global South, this book showcases innovations to mobilize new funds and reallocate existing resources to protect children during the pandemic.
