The authors of this study investigated the prevalence rates of childhood trauma, depressive symptoms, anxiety symptoms and suicidal behaviors among Vietnamese adolescents and compared the differences between institutionalized adolescents (IAs) and noninstitutionalized adolescents (NIAs). In addition, they examined the multidimensional associations between childhood trauma and psychopathology among IAs.

UNICEF Philippines is seeking a Child Protection Officer to support the planning, implementation and monitoring of child care programmes at national and sub-national level

This scoping review examines 23 studies on children’s experiences of residential care settings across mainland Southeast Asia, finding that research is concentrated in Thailand, Cambodia, and Malaysia, with no studies identified from Myanmar or Vietnam. It highlights significant gaps in research that directly engages children and examines the history, purpose, and culture of residential care, emphasizing the need for further evidence to strengthen alternative care and support the shift toward family-based care.

This study evaluates a parenting programme in Timor-Leste designed to improve developmental outcomes for disadvantaged children and adolescents, particularly among Bolsa da Mãe families and communities. Led by the Ministry of Social Solidarity and Inclusion with support from UNICEF, the research documents programme implementation and experiences to inform efforts to strengthen parenting support across the country.

Orphanage trafficking occurs at the nexus of criminal law (human trafficking offences) and child protection regulation. This report examines the intersection of these two legal systems for the purpose of developing a strategy to identify and prosecute orphanage trafficking.
