UNICEF is hosting a COSP15 Side Event on the topic of “Research and data for advancing the rights of children with disabilities” co-hosted by the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (Norad) and the International Disability Alliance.  

This Certification Training details how the nationally-adopted Standards of Quality for Family Strengthening & Support can enhance work with families through focus on 5 areas of practice: Family Centeredness, Family Strengthening, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, Community Strengthening, and Evaluation.  Whether you are program staff setting up a new program or strengthening an existing one, or a funder developing or monitoring programs, the Standards provide a blueprint for implementing best practice. In follow-up surveys at 3 months and 9 months after the Certification Training, more than 91% of respondents indicated that the Standards enhanced their Program's work with families.

The UN Child Rights Committee (CRC) has issued its findings on Cambodia, Canada, Chile, Croatia, Cuba, Cyprus, Djibouti, Greece, Iceland, Kiribati, Somalia and Zambia, the States parties that it reviewed during its latest session. The findings contain positive aspects of each country's implementation of the Convention on the Rights of the Child and its Optional Protocols, as well as the Committee's main concerns and recommendations.

This advocacy guide provides ideas and tools for making a case in favour of the inclusion of SBC approaches in the portfolio of solutions embraced by local and national governments, donors and other stake-holders. It includes both a foundational framework as well as worksheets that can be used to elaborate and contextualize advocacy messages intended for delivery to key stakeholders. This guide can be used in concert with the INSPIRE Indicator Guidance and Results Framework and the INSPIRE Handbook.
